CT evaluation of benign gastric lesions

چکیده
Recently the use of water as an oral contrast medium has been recommended, particularly together with intravenous contrast enhancement. The enhancing gastric wall and adjacent low-attenuation water emphasize any abnormality. The use of air as a contrast medium is necessary for evaluation of gastric tumours using 3 D reconstruction. Three-dimensional CT and virtual endoscopy are helpful imaging tools in identifying the intraluminal component of the gastric lesion, although accurate evaluation requires conventional endoscopy. The radiology images of many gastric tumours overlap and their differentiation is difficult; some of them have characteristic CT features that may suggest the diagnosis, but generally, most have no specific CT features.

Adrenal lesions: Common findings and pitfalls on 18F-FDG PET/CT
Adrenal lesions are commonly observed during 18F-FDG PET/CT studies. Although, most of these lesions are considered benign, an important consideration in oncologic patients is metastasis. Benign lesions, such as adenomas usually present with low 18F-FDG uptake, although overlap with malignant lesions exist and clear SUV cut-off for distinguishing adrenal adenomas has not b...

متن کاملA Case Report of Gastrointestinal Bleeding Due to Gastric Lipoma
Benign Gastric tumors are rare and generally account for less than 10% of all stomach tumors. Most gastric lipoma are asymptomatic and are found accidentally. Occasionally they can cause symptoms such as gastrointestinal bleeding, obstruction, abdominal p...
متن کاملFalse-positive FDG PET CT Scan in Vertebral Hemangioma
FDG PET CT scan is considered to be a sensitive tool to detect skeletal metastasis in known malignancies. However, it’s high sensitivity and low specificity may account for false positive diagnosis in cases of trauma, infection, inflammation and other benign conditions. Skeletal hemangioma is one of the common benign conditions which are typically ametabolic on FDG PET CT with no uptake on bone...
